Finally got a string up, climbed, r cut open Jeremy's hole. Looks good. Set a gall, 9 Mar 5 finds bird in hole on arrival for roost watch. 2 more go in... = 3 (?) total. 10 Mar Set ambush (ug). Birds upset but 3 Finally go in. 11 Mar Ambush! Caught all 3 breeders (no laps). It's both my && and Jeremy's impression that there are only 5 or 6 birds here (roosting at least). Looking at the Field list, only 5 birds were seen in Jan. 25 Mar 1730 Hello holes - nada (but bird near 93 a hole) 27 Mar 1100 " 1 Apr 1020 " 3 Apr 1135 Bird at high new hole (where we ambushed) 4 Apr 1105 Hello - nuthin, but there was a chase here 5 Apr Hello - nuthin 13 Apr 0630 Hello - nuthin 30 Apr 1000 Parked below tree r watched. There's a bird working on a new hole at the base of the nut about 1/3 way up the tall straight dead limb where they used to roost. 3 May Alas, he is dead. 1582, the B.M., was found dead on the road - a car casualty.
