1994 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus MPHE HNHR (16 Apr) I checked the trad hole ambush (empty). The hole under it is a dead end. Bled the 3 birds. Released 4 2081 (who, again, [illegible] wasn't on the Field list) Took 83 back for laps (one successful, one not-see cap recs). Removed old implants From 2nd ♂ (he has pink paint). Might these birds be roosting at the trad LPHF hole? Oh yes, I plugged the 4th hole with a gall. Also its bottom opens out at a knot hole (which is big enough for a bird to come out but not big enough for my hand. I tried widening it but no luck, so I ended up sealing it up too. Now, as I write this, I realize that there could be a 4th bird still in there - sealed in! Bugger! My count last night was 3 but hey. Hmm, I'm sure it could peck through a gall - or at least loosen it. Well I'd better go back.... 19 Apr Finally get by... the gall is out. 20 Apr Catch 2081 at CVGR. She (and her sister) are trying to take over there. I take 2081 back to the lab or CVGR immediately calms down. But when I go to release her at 1600 she's near death. I feed r water her, then put her in the trad. hole. 21 Apr 1100 Damn, she's dead in the hole. I take her back - make a spirit specimen of her. Damn. 1 May Jenny sees an ACW by the road here (alive) on the ground twice this am, but couldn't be bothered to stop
