1994 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus MurF H N H R 4 Mar 1430-1440 Saw 9 B= 1826 ?, Also 9 2339 13 Mar J. roast watch. Reports that 4-5 birds went to the lone N tree (fill 92 tree)(G the 2nd hole I ever cut open tree) though I assume they went to the 92 hole on the underside of the horiz branch. Maybe ambush tomorrow nite. 15 Mar Set ambush in horiz hole. Starling went into the '85 hole. ACW into horiz hole @ 1820. Around 1830 2 others went in. Shortly thereafter 3 birds arrived. One looked in, then returned to other 2. (Bj All 3 sat awhile then disappeared (away? into a hole on the other limb on the ambush side of the tree?) 1835 a bird went in, afterwhich I thought I heard some activity elsewhere in the tree. Hmm. So 4 in, and ≥ 6 in the group. 16 Mar Ambush! Yesterday I checked the door - it was nice or loose, but this am I discover that the bark was loose - the wood was wedged tight! Damn, so it was awhile b4 I could bleed anyone. Caught BM (popeye!) and NOBA HM ! Hoory! Also 2 99 (both HF). 88 to lab For lap. 0830 Released 88. HM Flew Fine, BM Flew very poorly. 29 Mar 0640-0700 Spy From CVZ. Lots of Flying about, but didn't really look like mate-guarding. No visits to holes (except maybe the high hole past the bee hive in the traditional tree). 1 Apr 1115 Helloid all holes - nuthin. Very Few acorns
