1994 M. Stanback 5 M. Formicivorus CV&R HNHR 27 Apr All quiet (Finally) 28 Apr Not so Fast. Katy reports chasing, so Mary + I go over at 1430 r net For an hour. A couple fly-bys. 29 Apr 0630 Yikes! It's hoppin here. Back to Hastings for help 0740 set r ready. Nabbed a banded 4, then BM green (the tosser), then a NOBA 4. Much quieter now, though a 4 w Mauve Fore- head + blue cheeks is doing the Friendly thing. Yellow-blue (Face + rump) is also doing friendly. We kept BM green. Quit at 0920. 30 Apr 0730 Some activity, set nets, no catchy birdies. 2 44 are still making Friendly. Occasional Flybys (+ cooper's hawk). Very slow. Quit 0840. 6 May Well, the nest in the hole up From the trough seems to have Failed. Call me paranoid, but I still consider it prudent not to climb a egg-laying hole until 0900 and not to cut open a hole until you have to. Hey, I've learned the hard way. 19 May 0900 Well damn if there weven't 2 chases here 23 May 0730 Still chasing! 4 M KWTJ/KB-K sitting in granary She had black chin stripes. Eventually chased out by pink 4 (though she took her time)
