1994 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus Knol HNHR Well, Knol lost its pine snag sometime this winter. 19 Mar J roast watches: 3 birds into ravine hole 22 Mar Set ambush at ravine hole. The door here is all grown over. I dapped in the door sideways. Alas birds showed up - didn't go in. 23 Mar I left ambusher up (what the hell), but was unable to watch tonight. 24 Mar Roost watch in the rain. No birds. Will remove tomorrow. 26 Mar J reports weirdness (chasing etc) over on the Knol. Both breeders seen so its not a PS. ?? 1 Apr Hello eye hole - nuthin. Katie does roost watch - 3 birds in !! 2 Apr 1730 Set ambush. Katy watches - see 2 birds in! A 3rd warily inspects it, announces it dangerous, tries to convince the 2 inside of it, fails, & leaves. 3 Apr Happy Easter! Celebrate by getting 2 Knol birds or 3 Plge birds in 2 ambushes. Here at Knol, we get BM & HF. BM was a complete bastard - screamed head off, Fought like hell, or wouldn't bleed. The hole here has some moss or crap in the bottom, so I don't think this is a nesthole - to be. The door is dapped in sideways. A good day... 19 Apr Katy shows me the Knol hole behind Walt's garage. Weird. The limb is about 7" in diam, very rotten, or the cavity is uphill From the hole [illegible]. Didn't climb. 30 Apr 0615-0655 Tried trapping. Caught a scrub jay 1215-1245 Tried again. Nothing.
