1994 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus Plge HNHR 1 Mar Roost watch: 2 birds flew to branch near '93 nest hole, sat awhile together. After a while @6:10 one flew down to (?) 93 hole (r-in?). Other went in at 1815. No vocalizations, no mounting. Only 2. 22 Mar 1730 On my way to roost watch at Buck I see a bird in the "basal" of the 2 93 holes. 30 Mar 0840-0900 Spy on 93 tree - no visits. 31 Mar 1515 Bird in lower hole 1630 No one in hole, but I'm gonna check it. Uh-oh, string is broken, Try Forever to get ball in right place. Finally, but then the !@# ball gets stuck. I give up. Will try again tomorrow. 1 Apr 0945 Hell'd 93 hole - nothing. 1730 Climbed - checked - no eggs - but looks very nice Roost watch: 3 birds to "nest", 2 over by Griffith's office 2 Apr 5 roost watches by office or gets 3 birds into a new hole in a tiny limb. Being the greedy SOB that I am, I announce a pole ambush for the am, even though a) there's no door, or b) we're already doing an ambush at Knol. Wish me luck. 3 Apr Ambush! After ambushing at Knol (successfully), we rush over here, I pole it perfectly, we get the big ladder under the hole, + all 3 birds came out into the bag (one at a time, thank you). Lapped 2056 + 2278, but then the damn otoscope went out before I could lap the 4 (or the Knol 4). Only got a good lap on one of the 88's. See cap rec.
