RANI
(27 Mar) Karritting drumming (or a couple garricks); she's with
Mr. White Bill () From RANA. Maybe she's a
RANA 99. I think it's just the Z of them. No
sign of the NOBA
29 Mar 0800 Arrive to find power struggle in progress. Re-upped
the string or put up net, only to have string break.
Finally all set at 0830. Slowly started catching
birds (see cap recs). Released all 4 aviary birds,
but they didn't stay or fight. However, the periphery
is crawling w banded birds. A female we caught
intruding last week is one of Z here (we caught her
again plus the other one - who we didn't know was
a new resident until we let her go. The Z♂♀ here
do nothing but fight e/o. I released 99 upo laps
since I really don't think they're cranked up. I am taking
the ♂ we (me r Eric) caught back for laps.
So... ended up catching 6 birds, one of which was Z
2130, an original RANT bird. (Also saw Z159 in
tree.... Oh yes, by late morning the group
established here was Z ♂♀ (the Bickersons - since
they argued constantly) and the Z 99 (pink
or green). After releasing green or catching pink,
a NOBA came in and refused to leave. She r
green chased or chased. Finally Z130(old yeller) came
barreling in, NOBA left and green r yellow
Fought hard (about 5 tumbles - the last one
being when I got both of them in my hands).
