1993 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus RANT 12 Mar 1300 - 1500. NOBA ♂ w [illegible] brown on both wings. I see 3 birds here, but avoid granery (cue) The NOBA looked in the ambush hole. A piece of black connects across white tween eye r bill on right, but not on left. Saw ♂ 2160 so who is this NOBA? The missed baby? Well, I waited - chased - I did the following: ♂ 2157, ♂ 2160, (♀) 2130, and the NOBA ♂ (who must be the missed baby). I only saw the left leg of 2130, but I saw it over r over. Never saw any other ♂ which concerns me. 1630 Set strings (2 sets) For nets. 13 Mar Roost watch. Kelly sees 2 birds go in low hole at 1825 14 Mar Ambush, Pole worked well (I fixed it so it telescopes again). Caught NOBA ♂ From the other day (yes, it's him) r ♀ 2159 (who I hadn't seen). The ♂ (now 2180) does not look like a 92 kid. He's got a long bill r is molting some crown (her) body Feathers. What gives? We take him back to Hastings For laps. Very difficult. Thigh muscle goes much too high. Put ♂ r ♀ into aviary. 15 Mar 0800. Lapped ♂ again - this time got it rite! Testis ~ .5 cm. Then did ♀ - Found inactive ovaries. The trick is to go under the thigh muscle - past the last rib. [illegible] Both were a little lite under here So I gave them a squirt of peanut butter.
