1993 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus 3 RANA (1 Apr) NOBA ♀ has tail spots. At least 5 birds here. Hey, the banded ♀ I saw the other day may not have been, I think I saw like green paint or assumed it must be the banded ♀ I had seen earlier. They are mate guarding (2♂♂ on NOBA ♀). Hey, definitely 2 NOBA ♂♂. One of them checked out (looked in) the death hole. No sign of a 2nd ♀. 7 Apr 1350-1420 Watched. Yep, they're going in the high hole. Saw white-bill ♂ NOBA ♂, plus a bird who sits on top of the nest limb r sleeps. I'm concerned that he's a sick lap bird, but I see no paint and he's fluffed over his legs. He's been there the whole time! D&M = is this ♀ 2183? The sleepy ♂ moved - I'm pretty sure I saw no bands. No Forehead or rump paint either. Time to climb. I Free climbed up r set a string. The hole is chippy, but it's a split level (bad news-remember <Hay?>). The door has grown over, but I didn't cut it - next time. The sleepy ♂ Flew in r I think he is sick (he's also a NOBA). He had trouble flying, landing, r walking. In Fact he came within 5 ft of me. Anyway, the hole isn't that huge, so I need a roost watch here to see where everyone sleeps. Then ambush. 10 Ap Came to roost watch - the owner's are here. Damn. 14 Apr 1015 Nice timing! I climb to Find 2 Fresh eggs! I recut the door
