RANA
(14 Mar) roost mounting that looked to be a copulation. Tail was wrapped around r cloacal contact seemed to be made! And this was 2 males! (I'm pretty sure). Later I saw a real real copulation. It was not reciprocated and the top bird slid down the side of the bottom bird r hung on to get full cloacal contact for over 3 seconds
18 Mar Having caught the white-billed ♂ From here at the Rant powerstruggle, I go over at 1115 to see how he survived his lap. He's Fine!! But I also noticed that a ♀ has green paint - so it was her we caught at the RANT p.s. The RANA birds left the area after I did these 2 r a NOBA ♂, so I can't say if we caught the other ♀ here.
19 Mar 1500 Relapped 2160 (blue) From other side (a pain). I'm pretty sure I was looking right at his testis (very pinkish red - maybe that's what threw me off originally). Anyway, about 5 mm. Relapped 2157: testis @ 7mm long.
30 Mar 1030 Drive by: banded ♂ at "nest" hole with another bird. Need to check it r set ambush.
1 Apr 0800-0930. Birds in the high hole, but the big surprise is that ♂2186 r ♂2188 are here! They were the 2nd batch of birds to move to RANA - they were also kept in the aviary for awhile - r I wondered why the last 2 gave up (the 2 we didn't catch). There's a NOBA♂, NOBA♀ here.
