1993 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus RANA 12 Mar 1500-1630. Saw NOBA ♂, Well damn. All the banded birds are gone! Replaced by 3 NOBA ♂♂ and at least 1 (I think 2) NOBA ♀♀. The 3 ♂♂ gathered around the high hole r argued while a 4th bird (a ♀ perhaps) was inside. One of the ♂♂ has a white base to his bill (not the Feathers). So... I'm pretty sure there are 5 birds here. The 2 I'm watching now has brown tips to all her wing Feathers). A ♂ just went inside the high hole. I waited but never saw a 2nd ♀ (but the birds kinda left). But that ♂ stayed in the hole til I left (½ hr) Yokes 13 Mar I come to roost watch but Find 2 dead birds with their heads stuck out of the low pole hole. Starling in the hole w/ the separate square door (acwir wanted in). 2 birds eventually roosted in high hole. 14 Mar I think I counted 5 birds here. Checked the woods For a hole - couldn't Find anything. I pulled the 2 dead birds out of the pole hole and Found a 3rd inside. What a slow r horrible death. One of the birds at the entrance was 2008 (♀), the other was a NOID ♂. The remains inside the hole were those of ♀ Z155 (Found bands From R leg, though skull or bones were only remains. While there may have been more inside, I couldnt really be sure. Roost Watch: 6 birds! I saw a reciprocated pre-
