1992 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus CHGO HVHR 24 Apr Connie reports birds here. Walt sets ambush 25 Apr Ambush! Get 8 1665, NOBA 9 2021. Blood From both and a 2nd cort sample From 8 (45 min later) 8 pink paint, 9 blue paint 26 Apr 0800 Put up dog Food here 6 May 1615 Checked both holes - higher one looks pretty nice. Dog food on branch gone - Feeder untouched - except For ants. Lots of them chewing on dog food. 24 May 0740 I knew it's a little early to be climbing for nests, but I had time to kill. Anyway, 3 eggs in the low hole. Question is, was the 3rd egg from today or yesterday (of course, I didn't open it, so they may be unfresh) Dog Food 1/2 Full. 6 June 1500 3 chicks, 1 dead egg, no dogFood (!Jin!) DB = 18.6, R = 17.1, - = 15.8. These are too big to have hatched yesterday... what gives? That 4th egg (which died) must've been laid much later. 18 June 0900 Banded the 3 chicks here. A little young, but so it goes. The ants are going to turn on the dog Food. I put up a platform last week, still no go. 8 Sept 1500 Bird in hole on arrival. Peeped. 4 eggs! 12 Sept 1045 " " " . Listened - no chicks. 15 Sept 1530 No one in hole on arrival. Peeped - 4 eggs. 18 Sept 1645 Shoulda, shoulda. LL: 11.1, RL: 10.9, H = 3.6, B = 3.1. Latter two not looking good (they hatched 17 Sept, others on 16 Sept)
