Formicivorus MacFlat - R3 30 Mar 1400 Saw 5 birds at MacFlat (had First thought they were R3 birds [illegible]) They also have stores, in the burned snag and in the sycamore snags over toward R3. I'll have Eric do a census. 31 Mar Eric reports quite a few acorns in the uphill side of the burn granary. A non-R3 ♂ seen 20 Apr People are reporting interest in the low road hole here. R3 birds? 1630 ♂ in a new hole 2 ft above old hole. Another bird was hanging outside. Peep. Fresh chips. 24 Apr 1600 Peep again. Empty. 27 Apr 1540-45. Quick spy. Nada. 1 May 1230 Well damn. As soon as I stop peeping, they start laying - 5 eggs! in higher hole. 5 May 1500 Cut open hole - a royal pain - very rotten 11 May 1530 3 cold kids - wouldn't beg - so I couldn't grab 'em. Did get: RL = 6.1 (the other 2 looked about the same size). Will return tomorrow. 12 May 1530 RL = 9.5, LL = 9.3, RW = 5.4, LW (RL from yesterday) = 8.7, 1 egg still unhatched! Will return tomorrow. 13 May 1415 RL = 12.3 = K, LL = 13.4 = Y, RW = 7.8, LW = 11.4 egg still unhatched - couldn't reach - must be dead 17 May 1500 LL = 34 = LG, LW = R = 34.2, RW = LP = 26.4, K = 31.5. Egg not there, but shells were. Did it hatch? 21 May Set and ready at 0720, Nabbed 2147 at 0847. Bleed v T implant. Quit at 1020. Tied off ambusher
