1993 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus Murf HUNHR 2 Apr 1440 Hello holes - nada. 5 Apr 0845-0900 Spy - not a soul (but a Cooper's hawk) 11 Apr 1615 Seeing as Veronica saw visits to the outer of the twin uphill holes in the main grun (where 92 spring nest was), I peeped it. Empty and no Fresh chips. Also the only have @ 100 acorns stored. Time For an ambush. 13 Apr Veronica had seen 1+ birds in the hole roosting. Its a good thing (?) I didn't ambush immediately. 3 birds roasted in a higher w hole. 1 bird went into the 92 nest hole. I'll set the hi hole. 16 Apr 0945 Bird in 92a hole making chips. Bag ambush.... 18 Apr 1400 Peeped 92a hole. Not many chips.... 24 Apr 1400 5 Fresh eggs. But careful - the hole has a dogleg, so the peep on 18 Apr may not have been ok 6 May 0800 LL=6.7, B=5.6, RW=6.1, RL=3.9, LW=3.6 10 May 1330 LL=25.1= RW=25=R, B=23=DB. No sign of runts. Shit, subtract 1 = 24.1, 24.0, 22.0 12 May 0815 Set - ready, but the HM never shows. At 1025 I nab BM 1954 - give him a T implant - take down ambusher. 13 May Late start (1015). At 1053 Popeye goes in. Nab. Unfortunately, he's a gusher (had to use quick stop) And there's nothing worse than implanting in the blind. He still had his old implants, so I did a sham operation - left them in.
