1993 M. Stanback M. formicivorus KNOL HUNR 18 Apr 0630-0735 Set net at Feeder. No takers (except For the scrub jay (NOBA) that (caught) Saw several visits to syc hole. 27 Apr Walt reports 4 incubated eggs in sycamore hole. 2 May 1000 Well, I guess they weren't that incubated - I climbed v none hatched. Also, since Eric couldn't see the hole when he tried a watch this a.m., I went ahead r cut off the offending limb. 5 May 1100 RL=9.5, LW=9.5, RW=8.8, LL=7.4 11 May 0715 RL=Y=35.5, LW=K=2?, RW=R=31.2, LL=Mv=29 22 May Roost watch ravine hole: 3 birds in! Remembering that last year I waited a day r they didn't return, I decide to pole ambush tomorrow. 22 May Ambush! Worked like a charm! Unfortunately, I caught only 1 HF (whom I implanted w T: there won't really be a control, but since she wasn't caught at the nest, I'll rationalize). Also caught BF + silver crown 8, whom I started lapping (cut through body wall) only to find that my oto- scope is broken - no light!!! Damn it all. I implant him w T (what the hell) and release. 25 May 1500 Banded 4 babies (3 big, 1 runt) 19 June 0830 Hello hole - nada. 25 June set a trap on platform, Rebecca actually, but it's a shitty one that closes only 1/2 way sometimes (lie when 2 woodpeckers spring it!) Will try tomorrow. 26 June 0631 Rebecca gets jaw 2240 at trap. I do sseries (2 more Fucking ACWs escape! Fix it!).
