1992 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus Misc Groups H NHR + 14 May OUTBACK : 0900 set ambush. Waited until 1215 ... no visits, no Fresh egg today. Have they abandoned? Even if they haven't, they're not doing me any good.... so I take the 3 eggs and put in aviary for brood reduction experiment. Egg sizes: 1: 25.45 x 20.6 (), 2: 25.85 x 19.8 (), 3: 25.9 x 20.65 () 26 May Rana Creek : 1230 Spied on the house group a bit. Juveniles! At least 2. Oh well! Still have lots of acorns - maybe a 2nd nest.... i then went down to the small pond just down From the house group. Just past it, past the dirt road is another nice granary. I watched n soon got 2 visits to a hole. I went to check it out r heard pecking inside. Juvs? Don't think so - an adult flushed - and they seemed to be mate guarding! I think there's an egg! (I climbed [very weird] and my [illegible] peeper was dead. Must return with the big ladder. Jim - I did. Hole empty. 30 May Dan reports a banded bird with food going in a hole. 31 May MOON: yes Dan, it's moonshine in their trad tree. Set 1530 wt bill l's 1' TS T Ch Bar ambush.
