An hour later all 4 were munching out. 12 Apr 1020 Bird in 91 hole. 17 Apr 0825-0900 Spy. Nothing- 19 Apr 1130: Bird in hole. Climbed - empty 23 Apr See RAVI notes. Knol birds were attacking RAVI birds 27 Apr Have been helloing - nothing, but did see a bird at the hole at 1835. Valerie reports roosting up the creek towards Walt's. 28 Apr 1100 Find nest! In a high dead limb across the creek From the woodpile. I climbed up but can't get to the nest. 1 May 1230 Using the double ladder + step ladder Walt goes to the hole: 5 eggs. A piece breaks off the back, so no cut is needed, but duct tape is. Damn, Walt says eggs Fresh, so I should have gotten pre- cubation data starting on 28 Apr. Damn! 4 May Valerie reports no action at nest. Shoulda known. I set up poles at platform For a net. Jay trap too Walt roost watches - a bird (21) in ravine hole. 5 May 0700 Bird in 91 sycamore hole 0940 Climb, empty, doesn't look good. Dove nest below it in hollow on limb Parent Fell to ground? 1 chick (old) 1 egg
