Gave em some dogFood. 8 Sept 0830-45. Spied. Birds going to the cavernous hole - making abot of noise (just starting?) Nope, chicks! 1145 LB = 20.4, 17.5, 14.0 (3 kids). Gave dFood 18 Sept 1560 Got blind etc ready For a nest ambush. Skip reported 3 juvs Feeding alot here yesterday. 19 Sept Damn, shoulda set ambusher yesterday. Set r ready by 0730. Birds started coming w/in 20 min, though only 1340 was really willing to go in. All 4 juvs showed at one point or another, but none were willing to go in. BM 1562 (not on Field list) showed up too! Birds knocked down ambusher at 0830. Reset. By 1100 the glare was really bud. Finally quit r tied off ambusher at 1130. Damn. 20 Sept It just gets worse - worse. Set r ready at 1430. No juvs. Bird knocks it at 1530. Reset. At 1725 a juv Finally looks in, but doesn't go in. Quit at 1735 - retire. Why no juvs? 21 Sept Set r ready at 1330. At 1400, a juv grabbed the monofilament - yanked. Reset. Caught 8 2033. Sample + stress series. Banded - bled kids.
