Dakota-Morrison Field Conference #1, July 30. With Mudge, Vanhorn, Scott & McDowell, Visited Boxelder, Bellevue, Spring Canyon, Carter Lake, Lyons, Fourmile Creek, Eldorado Springs, and Plainview section. General agreement that so-called Dakota beds below disconformity more closely related to Morrison in genesis, that disconf. mappable contact. Also that Lytle beds, in spite of variation from place to place can probably be mapped as a unit. Unit could be(1)member of Morrison (2) separate formation, Lower K? Base of Lytle - Boxelder - Mudge would put it base massive white ss and not include red clstn + white ss between it and green shale Bellevue - All agree on base massive cql/SS, Spring Canyon - " " " " " " Carter Lake - " " " " " " Eldorado Spgs- " " " " " " At all but last locality no red or maroon beds beneath cql. Plainview - Van Horn - base 1st massive SS Mudge self - base 2nd(cqite)SS All inclined to agree that cql bed west end cut is Morrison. 28
