(4) Main clay bed well exposed. 3.3 - irregularly bedded fine gr. ss. becoming arg. downward. Much frag. carb. matter. 4.8 - clay - weathers light blue gray, mottled brownish, semi plastic, with laminae, very fine silt (sample # 1) 7.4 { Sample #2 (clay only) clay similar to above but with thin beds of ferruginous siltstone. + local concentrationary masses of ironstone. Lst speckled 1.8 clay as above becoming more silty with layers of siltstone + arg. silt. One bed of 0.1' siltstone 0.7 above base. 4.2 interbed, shaly siltstone, clay + thin beds of fine grained ss. All is thin bedded, ripple mark surface at top + on most of the siltstone surface. 1.1 interbedded shaly siltstone + silty shale, ripple marked, 0.2 shaly bentonitic clay at base. massive brown weathering ss 25.
