1st Glen ss is more variable in this area, has frizzle ss at base, x bedded, clayey - very much like typical Lytle and even has pink-purple cast locally (Rainbow Cr.). May = carb. ss & silts of Morrison & Turkey Cr. sections as there is sharp unconf contact between it and the main body 1st Glen ss above. Locally a claybed just above this unconf down Rainbow Cr. Next ss ledge (above main clay zone) has good looking plants on upper surface at base of lowest clay bed in upper clay zone. Layer with leaves crusts first hogback ledge (going E tow) Leaves, are dicots of much greater variety than those found in main clay and leasues in 1st ss. This doubtless environmental as plants of willow-like aspect in main clay & 1st ss also found in 'Deloto' clay at Deer Cr, and latter clay is strat above the horizon in question. This locality on Rainbow Cr is only good, varied dicot flora found by us so far. Deloto clays silty, interbedded with ss not impressive - see Rainbow Cr. Section. 18.
