Stratig: Area characterized by thickness and prominence of sandstones. 'Dkt', first Glen, 3rd and massive Lytle cqls all local ridge formers. Lytle cql. locally contains much quartzite and quartzized wood, commonly deeply red-stained where variegated (chiefly red clsts) zone present below discout. Local coarser areas but generally cql continuous from Helmer mine S without break, alho local thin var. claystone lenses common. At Rainbow Cr. section appears to be definite discout. betw. cql. & varicolored fine qr. quartz. ss bed below - latter could be Morrison. W of Helmer mine note another thin ledge cql. below mezin bed. Between 1st & 3rd ss the section varies, with base 1st very nearly meeting 2nd in some places (See Willow Cr. section). Platy beds become less platy southward but retain thin-irreg banded character and lie between 2 well-defined breaks the cqlts base is glossy and flat discout. At top 2nd ss. Latter feature made prominent throught hogback by Fe zone cap,
