Van Bibber Creek section. Pieced along S end Dakota hogback just north of Van Bibber Cr. in - Upper ss - ss. from top of massive (not incl. trans. beds into Graneros) 8.5 ss - med.gr. cross-laminated hard.. beds 0.6' - 0.2'; ripple marks on bedding planes; colour light grey; weathers buff -> iron brown. This unit thins and thickens in channel fashion along the strike. 14' ss thin bedded (0.05 -> 0.1) med + fin gr; gray; med gr beds weather buff & iron brown; partings of fine gr. gray res + shaly res, finely laminated med.gr. beds cross laminated. Local partings of silty shale, weathers gray and white in lower part. basal 3': massive cross-laminated chan- nel sand: local disconformity at base. 14' measured at deepest point of channel. 9' ss underbedded med + fine gr res res above: beds .05 -> 2.0 thick: DISCONFORMITY ss + clay (minor) hard fine-gr gray argill. res in beds 0.6 -> 2.0 becoming progres- sively fine argill and more sandy down- wards. Argill. res beds show no laminations: massive to concordantly fine, turning some frag plant stumps 10' +/- 2.
