3.5' Dark grey shale weathers fresh grey few silty layers in lower half. .6 Siltstone and fine sandstone thinbedded; beds up to .2' finely laminated; some silty shale in upper half. 2.7' Dark grey clay shale as above (look) as in preceding interval .5' Hard dark grey argill siltstone becoming shaly in upper part. Above this sizes near surface & disrupted by crop. No other silty layers appear above, but over 25' shale some cones locally and a bentonite bed about 15" thick.
