Formicivorus LHAY HHNHR Dec 88 Acorn Count: 10,000 ~23 Mar Hello holes-nothing 28 Mar 1430 Theres a nice, new, low hole (E Facing) in the tree S of the granary. 1445 Saw 9 1522 on the 14-B side of the Fence (r down. a good ways) 4 Apr am Lynn reports lots of visits to hole. 1200 I climb hole - peep - empty, but Fresh chips. I couldn't reach the bottom, so I added a whole Pnut butter jar of chips - then topped w real ACW chips. 8 Apr 1400 Checked - empty, but they kept the chips (looks like they removed a few real ACW chips) 13 Apr 1100 Checked hole - still empty. No one in Walt's hole or the nice new hole in the tree just up r to the S of the granary tree (E Facing) 16 Ap Lynn reports mate guarding but no interest in holes. 19 Ap 1230 Aha! One new egg in 88 hole. Set round blind Roast watch: 3-4 birds in (probably 3?) Lynn 20 Ap 1500-1800 Nest watch, followed by roast watch. Everybody wanted in, but the first bird discouraged them. At one point 3 were definitely inside, but some were being evicted as fast as they were going in. It was ugly - there were still birds trying to get in at 1920.
