1990 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus Y H/NHR 11 Jan 1500 Saw 1150 + 1560 15 Feb 1400 Saw 1150, 1560, or M 9 (= 1561?) 6 Mar 1440 Caught 1561 at Watt's Feeder. 87g (147) 30.35 80. Hcvit 61.5, 62, 63, 62, 62, 63.5, 63, 63.5, 63, 62.5. Put on radio. Pink rump. Phillips's radio bird killed (Cooper's Hawk) Within days extra birds seen here, no ID's 9 for I notice the garricking (Knol 9?) in Y's locust, later I see a chase here. 14 Apr I can't stand not knowing what's going on, so I take a look. Knol 8 1301 is at the terr border garrickly, Y 8 1150 is garricking + drumming. 9's are chasing. 1560 is keeping them out. But who? Drumming at Knol too. Ah ha! An NOBA 9 sitting w 1150, until chased by a third. A 8 (Noid) also seen intruding. I think a hormone ambush is in order! At one point 1150 led the NOBA 9 to the locust nest hole. A pair of pies are here complicating things. I saw 9 w bands (own?) Knol 9 1445 (M R W N / V K M) in Y gray eating acorns. I got a glimpse of a bird w DBR (sols) Assuming 9 1560 is here defending, that shows that when such effect is down to 1 defender, the breeder turns traitor + advertizes. 1150 & am Noid bird took turns mounting each other. The Noid Flew across the road. Shortly afterwards 1150 Flew too, to a new hole in the sycamore (low!) Then 1445 came out
