Spirit specimens. 17 June 1130-1200 Still lots of acorns. ) Flushed 1 bird on arrival, pretty dead since then. I watch awhile r hear babies - in the high hole. I climb r they Hedge. I leave a ball up there 25 June Roost: As I set up to climb the hi hole to set an ambush a bird Flushed From a nearby branch. As I start climbing, a bird flushes from the very low knob hole and a juv sticks his head out. I decide to get out of the tree in hopes they return to the low hole. The juv Flushes on the way down. I roost watch - 1 bird into the low hole. Sounds like others in the mystery area. Pigs! 26 June A baby in the low hole r one in the water hole. I decide to ambush the low hole Z-site, so I nap. I do the pole before it gets dark, so birds in nearby holes can Find other accomodations (also so I dont have to use a flashlight). One bird escaped, but I cought 3 (4 & 2 juvs, see cap recs). Released 27 June am
