Formicivorus Rana Creek HNHR 8 Nov Ambush 2 holes (7 in one, 1 in other = 1783-1790: see cap recs) Am removing these birds at request of R.C. people (pecking house - they were shooting them. No power struggle after removal). 9 Nov 0630 Arrive - all quiet Only 2 bird showed up (I think it was 1 that escaped ambush) + kavinted. 0645 Play power struggle tape 0700 Four birds arrive quietly and eat acorns. We stayed until 0815, playing the ps tape periodically - no response. Took down nets r came home. Adios. in Aviary: 0900: 8 birds alive 1400: 9 w shot breast is dead, 8 1788 is very lethargic & I'm worried. 10 Nov 0930 All 7 looking OK (including 1788) 12 Nov early 4 birds here 15 Nov roost watch: 3-4 birds here - roosted away From gran (toward house)
