Watched From below PLAN. At least 4 birds here. 3 visits to hole A (see reverse) and one to 1990 nest hole (in for several minutes) 1500 Climbed 90 hole. Has shit in bottom. No nest here. The other hole (A) has no bottom. Strike Two. 23 Apr 1400-1430. Saw 2 visits to hole A, also [illegible] 2 birds left tree by flying 5. At 1415 there must have been an alarm call, for 3 birds dashed to the 90 hole. Before this they had been together on the dead trunk, working away at one spot (a new hole?). Saw several dominance interactions. No action after the dash. 1435 Back to life: 5 birds (4 From 90 hole?) 24 Apr 1600 What the hell, I climbed 90 hole again (bird in hole on arrival!), but still shitty! 26 Apr 1400-1445 Birds absent most of the time. Did see one suspicious flight toward (blocked by leaves) "Traditional" hole. 1 visit to hole A. 29 Apr 0815-0915. Set blind & watched.
