1991 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus R3 9 May 1230 Once again, I check it; once again empty. I'm worried - when I hello'd I got nothing but as I raised the ladder 2 birds flushed from somewhere in the tree. 10 May 1000-1025. They're mate-guarding - For what, its worth. Stellar's jays here cleaning out feeders. The ACW's spent very little time near the granary 1115 Checked hole - empty. Stuck bit o' lichen in door. 12 May 1300 Still empty, lichen gone. 13 May 1300 Can I kick myself? 4 eggs in the hole just above + around from the new cut hole. Damn. Morne saw a bird flush from the creek side. And this was another mate-guarding group! 14 May 1000 Deep hole, thick wood. Separate door. 4 eggs. Small 20 May 1430 1 Fresh chick (3.5g), 1 egg pipping, 2 other eggs look fine. 21 May 1115 RL=5.6, LL=3.9, RW=3.8, B=3.5. B was still attached to egg. After weighing here I realized that the tare is off on the 10g pesola. I've been doing most with the 50, but check records of nests where all kids > 10g. Whatever value the pesola said, subtract .3 for the proper weight (in those records I subtracted 1.0) Pesola is now tared so I don't have to subtract anything, 10 May Roger does pm watch - no shows. I later (unknowing ly) set an ambush here.
