1991 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus CVI 20 May Have not to do a nest ambush. Arrive at 0830 to Find ambusher sprung and babies quiet. I climb r Find them stone cold + barely alive. I succeed in warming them back to life, give each a syringe of baby Food, and put them back into the nest, into the blind at 0830. At 0930 as I prepare to give up, a bird goes into the nest for @ 2 min. Others show interest but are afraid. Birds stop showing interest @ 0950. At 1000 B9 into hole for @ 5 min. I'm sure the kids are pretty chilled again. A male came w insects but wimped out, another with acorns x wimped. 1200 Returned w hot baby bottle and a hand warmer - they needed it - were chilled again. I warmed em for a bit in the baby box, then put the warmer in the nest + crossed my fingers. I fear that as a last resort I must Foster the Gazo kids into here. And I do it. I Fill 'em full of baby Food r put them in at 1700 (The CVI kids get put in Gazo with the Gazo runt). I watch roosting at CVI v arrive to Find all CVI adults busy Feeding the noisy Gazo kids.
