1991 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus CVGR HNHR 4 April Traditional hole (2 entrances, multiple doors, very deep hole in "corner" tree) was nearly full of dirt. I cleaned it out or plugged it or set ambush at hole below. Starling tried upper hole (incipient nest) couldn't get in or one roosted lower. Wouldn't let woodpeckers in (4+). [They roosted in a new hole in the end of the limb with the Fence hole] Anyway, I ambushed or killed the starling. Caught 9 1825 in Fence hole Radio, control implant. 77 (140) 30.85 (82.5)(3.5=8) Hcrit = 66, 67, 68, 78, 80, 73, 66, 67, 68 22 Apr 1730 checked low "corner" hole. Empty x not in great shape. Cleaned starling nest out of upper. 23 Apr 0640 Found ambusher blocking the "Gazo" hole. *.@ I took it down. Hello'd other holes - nada 25 Apr 1130 Hello holes - nada. Spied a while. 3 flew together toward PHTF (holes over these?) 26 Apr 1035 Hello - nada. Pies eating Morné's dog Food. 27 Apr 1100 Spy a bit. Birds fly to low hole in corner tree. I peeps. Empty but OK shape I stopped by to hello several times this afternoon but never got a bird in the hole 30 Apr 1515 Check (peep) low hole - empty 3 May 0930 2 eggs! Set blind. 1340-1640 Nest watch. Roost watch: a noisy late bird in, some indoor wakas, then a hasty noisy departure. Was there someone in there (I didn't check on arrival)
