Grindon Monday July 21/1913 Rained all afternoon but we are out anyway. Krich after collecting in the Millus quarry concluded that the horizon is near Fern Glen and Burlington. Before he had seen the locality he was of the impression that the hori- gon is in the Tennesseeo. However he now concludes mainly on the basis of the Bryozoan that the time is either upper Kinderhook or early Burlington. Professor Krich said the facies of the Grindon is German Permian. This is true for the dolomites here duplicate the Grindon while in both places there are red shales and gypsum deposits.
