"Medina, N.Y. Fall 1843. At Medina Falls on Orchard creek "Best Medina exposures in the state" About "110 fut", as same as at Rochester. In my Cataract fols have 60 fut. This is also the best place for an abundance of fossils. Whirlpool sandstone may be here. If or it is tipped red. Is not once developed East of Medina, Quenaris in the sandstone. "Quenari'd a "little north out of village" Grey Band 4 fut thick with some Hoad pebbles. The abundance of marine fossils occur "near the upper falls of the grey man"* Picturites in Grey Band. See Comra's quotation of 1837. * This "grey mass" must refer to the white concretions at the base of the section
