Litchi is built on my near this fault Grove. Some day there is going to be a fearful devastation here of earthquake, fire and death. It is a crime that the City Engineers do not examine the buildings who try to talk out building permits as to where the fault lies are. Then if the buildings go ahead it is their fault. Hillis and Lord are predicting a de- cided earthquake for the Los Angeles area within the next few years. Lawson says Hillis is pessimistic, and further that he can not present data predict when the major movement will take place. They come too irregularly. But Lawson is gathering the data and plotting it to see what the nature of the periodicity is. Maybe then Insurance Companies can then do business or a far more secure business.
