San Angelo, Jan 9. Sunday. Arose at Brade at 6 A.M. and had break-fa at 6.45. At 7.30 we are off to spend today seeing the Permian. Iron ore had a flow out and fell into the procession of about 60 cars and 135 people. When we caught up with the crowd it was on the banks of the Colorado river. Here near the top of the little bluff is the top of the Cisco during a room of crushed Oeitzas and small Seminale. On top of it rests the basal Drichita in which I saw no fossils. The Craig Beede runs the expedition and describes the Permian. Got nothing out of the days train. The Drichita is not red. Saw the top line at Ralliff on the little Clear Fork is of red shales with a few gray of a Hurst-white dolomite in thickness of 250 feet. Fossils scarce, one gave ours Ordiliceras about 3 1/2 inches across. Stopped at the Diploid place where Drake collected the nautilids described by Hyatt. San Angelo Finally saw the Oondotus and shales (Coral deposits) and conglomerate north of Bronte.
