rolling country with a hied red soil in which are abundant some light sand petter or concretions, these are the Cut. hard sands. At Akron, Ala low fan-palms come in showing that those plants may be expected on the edge of climates with cirtuos. Here they are up to 3 feet tall, but the leaves are as full green as in southern Florida. For miles to the northeast of Meridian we pass through what appears True hard Cenopecs, dark- hue clays, one of which are almost black. Arrive at Meridian at 2.30 P.M. The county is low low rolling and more flat. We arrive at New Orleans on time.
