County. It is still semi-arid here, but in the area of irrigation it looks like an oasis in the semi-desert. Elevation 964 feet. From Del Rio the country improves more and more agriculturally going east, and then carriage way to San Antonio we pass through a cane and grain growing county. Inne and more towns come in, but all are small similar to ones quite of Arizona, with here and there an orange park of considerable age. We get on train (8:00 p.m.) to San Antonio and miss a cab for Crockett Hotel for the night. All goes well and I am rested, and happy in the thought that I get the true idea of commuters in the blan Out.
