64 The feldspar in this sandstone The basal conglomerate of the Portungrie has large hidden fragments up to one foot across. They are once rounded, and consist of a dense red igneous rock (=? granite) and quartzites. These must be of Archeogrian age. See Panormes's descrip- tion of it. It seems probable that the Devon sea lapped against this ridge of Portungrie land.
