1988 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus 1500 HNER 10 Aug 0850-0955. Weirdness here. Saw 297, 1608, 1609, +1610. Did not see either F1367 or 1329. I think there was only one of them here anyway and the other died, because there is a semi-power struggle here. But not really - no garricks, no drumming. Looks more like mate guarding - lots of following and wakas - little chasing. 1500 seems to have split in two. The main granary is occupied by 297, the 3 juvs, and 4787. From 1800 (she's an 1800 breeder) There was also a NOBA 4 sitting peacefully with 4787. Could this be the NOBA I saw feeding an 1800 juv on Haystack earlier this spring? Nonetheless, the other "half" of 1500 (the 2nd granary) seems to be occupied by a NOBA 3 and 1-2 NOBA 99. There is some mixing between the 2 areas. 4787 is interested in the 1500 nest hole, and visited it several times. 1500 still has lots of acorns, and there was some harvesting going on. * * Group Update * I'm not convinced 41367 was ever here (only seen by JB), i. she wasn't. 41329 disap 880810 ± 2 D. 4787 (B4 1800) moved here as B4 880810 ± 2 D 1 Oct 1015 Stopped by Far quick census: 2 1608, 4 1610. Now, why hasn't 4787 chased 1610 out? 3 Oct 0930 stop by: 1608
