Then spent 2 hours at the Art Museum, one in the first shape. Lots of old masters and two portraits of George Washington, one by R. Peale and to the S. Stuart. Really one of the great collections in the US. Had lunch at the new Merritt Netherlands Hotel. Have tours building over to St. Louis. Then to the top of the town to see the city. Spent the evening at Emmes home and retired at 10:30. Oct. 27 Tuesday. A cool morning with sun- shine and showers. At 1:00 P.M. Albert and his wife are off with one to Canton where we return at 8:00 A.M. During the morning read The Moral for Educated Men, by G.E. Riggs, B.M. Mon- ter. 1930.
