" Nov. 27 - 94. Began to dig at 8. V a great man of jumbled vertebrae and ribs. By noon it was apparent that nothing of much value would be obtained. All there was one tooth incisor tooth and four small bones which may be (ear?) bones, In the afternoon dug at a peculiar "but bone" as reported to me by a young man which proved [illegible] [illegible] The local primitive portions of a skull. There is another the one connected with this skull on the inner side. Will take it up. Spent two hours collecting shells.
