The newer portions of Mobile only Government street have frame houses like those along the remainder street of best portions of some northern town. Mobile is a trading town and is not marvel for anything special. It does not impress me as an thriving town. Take away the fryer and shippers of cotton and lumber and all that over the left will be the saloon keepers and italians.
