September 17 - 1904 The Barton section On 13th this section starts with an C. Lippin on a road side in N.E. Corner of Block 13th near No line 160s At Bond Covered. Bar 875' x A Bluish gray shly silt cov (Alypia, Almyra, Etc etc) 15' x b deep very fragile loose sand some what calcareous on top Almyria (Alypia, Lithothela, Pichnellia) On 13th Covered Bar 1048' / x A Bluish gray shly silt of Azh. fossils na3. Bond (Schizolopha, Almyra etc.) 5' & Bluish gray shly silt. 10' x E Bluish gray shly silt (Alypia, Almyra, Albsellia, Coral etc. 10' A Covered 3' x C Bluish gray shly silt off clay Lithothela Coral, Stenogyraena 2' f Covered ? September 19 - 1904 Down the bed of Salmon Creek about 150 yards below the bridge below Jones elects rather little Salmen and Big John mine (At Bar 185' [Bar 74] is an extensive C. E. Bence etc.) The N and S joints are very well developed, at one place they are very close together from 2" to 6" apart & at this place for about third of the width it streaks or 12" the streak is filled slipping Out from 90th to 12th the joints being N. 13th E. The carpathia of the crevice with the contect and beds below is in the N. bank of stream at this place At Bar 770' N. 19' E. A 13th. E. 12 N. About a half mile down stream from the above, to Lapping gray sh with the contectary band below in about 68' [Bar 675] and at this place also at lower end (C. E. in stream) the N and S joints are very well developed And the same filling is found, aggres found above the dipping from 60 to 130 No being from N. to 18th Wpad and N. 13th E. Sind A Black fissle sh having a very black appearance frame of tilting dark joint struck / x A This is bed 4 Salmon Creek almost enter the block X in a rock X below the present sh containing collections. (Cabospider, pingulide, Lurhyena 3' Choire, Gnidodstina) x b E. Gray rather softy stuffy sh (Chorita, Polycora, Lithella, Corvata, Cardiosta?) Bar. 668' 71
