All 6 eggs opaque, none hatched 13 July 0830 9 in nest - no eggs hatched NSS 1st nest: ht = 10 m, CNH = 90, ang = 10, dir = 252 dead limb, syc, see CBH, depth = 30 (?) → from horiz 14 July 0630 Still not hatched! but it looks like pipping←note 15 July 1345 OK, whats the deal - still not hatched (or pipped) note I pulled out an egg + examined it - opaque + looks good - there's always a bird in hole too! 16 July 1600 Still not hatched !! What's up ?? 17 July 1800 "" (9 + baby in hole) 2 Aug 1500 Nest empty. 7 Aug Ron reports some weirdness here. It seems 11-B birds may be trying to set up shop on the Knoll. HB birds: 1301, 1303 were with Y 9 1350. Ah ha! so.... 1350 is not back to join Y, she's back to set up Knoll (she's probly the Ref 1 bird). Ron says a similar thing happened in 1981. 15 Aug Refilled Feeder (also Filled it 2 Aug) "Heard birds at Knoll r at MacR as well as at Y proper. 17 Aug 0800 675, 1350 seen (also MTR)(?wh?) Oh, scrub jays have learned how to operate dog Food Feeder. Garricks, etc still heard on knoll. See Knoll-Pump notes 22 Aug 1330 Stopped by to watch them eat dog Food, when I saw a bird go to the hole. Then again. Checked hole... Nest #3 !! 6 fresh warm eggs. 27 Aug 9 1350 is still associating w H-B 88 at Knoll.
