Stanback Pituophis melanolucos Gopher Snake HNHR 8 June 1250 released radioed snake at creek at post 14 band 2, channel 7, Freq O, (Freq 151.450) 9 June 0940 still down gopher hole from yesterday. Radio Fucked 11 June 1130 " " " 10 June pm. The. radio signal is weak & wierd. Only blipped a couple times 1430 Still in same hole. Radio still weird (but better- "free" worked itself up to blip @ every 15 sec 2000 Still in same hole. Radio still Fucked (it's cold) 12 June 1130 " 1430 " 1700 " 13 June 1230 Same hole, but now the radio works Fine! 1700 " 14 June 1430 " 15 June 0830 " 1630 " 20 June 1245 Dug up radio (ie there was no snake around it - it was also rather clean - could it have been regurgitated rather than shat out? I made ready to put the radio in the Dark Hollow snake, but decided to let him eat first. 21 June 1300 Put in radio (thinking he had eaten the mouse - which he hadn't, because it escaped) 1430 Tried Force Feeding a dead mouse - was not interested. 23 June It got >100° F today; snake died. Vancy didn't know it had a radio and threw it behind the house. Disappeared 24 June Can't get a signal w Bat's radio.
