1987 M. Stanback M. Formicivorus LA2 HNHR 11 Sept 0930 Saw 1116 (I think) and a NOBA ♂ (5250) 1100 Think I saw 5250 again, also saw 1234 (RL) go to a low hole in the dead granary repeatedly and come out as saw clust in his mouth. (From east - in this one - the lowest hole. LA2 has lost the big knoll tree to A1. Still lots acorns. ** Group Update ** Following the death of ♂ 1208 on 87 around 0600, ♂♂ 1116, 1234, 1236, 1237, and ♂ 5250 are now breeders with ♂♂ 611 and 782. ♀ 1371 hasn't been seen since 870621, but no one's looked. Haven't yet seen new ♀♀ here. Shy. 5 Oct 10-1035 Saw ♂ 1236, ♀ 1371, maybe ♂ 1237. Point is: Fuch effect, ♂ 1371 has prevented an influx of new ♀♀, thus ♂♂ are not breeders! 8 Nov 0830-0900 Watched w/o blind. Saw ♂ 1234, a ♀ (void), and a ♂ R/Y (maybe 1234) from far away. These birds range from Bian to the peak tree to U12 itself. 5 Jan 1988 Acorn Count: Dead gran 4700 3 5800 in the woods 1100 3 5800 (@ 250 had fallen, I put them back up) whoops, found more (100) total = 5900
