1987 M. Stanback 2 M. Formicivorus FAAR HNHR 15 April 1400 - 1445 Oh Fanny, lets not. Not there. 9 834 was at (or seemed to go into) a hole at the end of a snag sticking out to the NW at the 86 nest tree. But there was also a 9 sitting near the 86 hole, which looks very nice. A couple new hole starts, but none too promising. Starling still in that hole 20 April 1430 - 1515 Watched For nestiness - birds didn't show up for a long time. A 9 that looked like ORO MW was at the 86 hole for awhile, then went to sit by the nearby missing hole. 22 April 0710 - 0735 Watched For nestiness. No obvious m.g., but I think its a 18 group. Lotsa Flycatching. However, at one point a bird was chased from hole #1 (see pic on back of page 1) 23 April 0800 As I watch, Blue breeder 9 goes to hole #2, 2 88 then join her. Aha! Climb - its empty and has feces in the bottom. (A weird climb Freestyle) I clean the starling nest out of hole #3 in hopes they'll use it. Starling babies (5) removed for lab work. 24 April 0815 Saw bird go to same hole. 25 April 0830 " 27 April set string 28 April 1030 spent much too long resetting string. Fresh chips! 29 April 0810 Bird at hole 1 May 0900 2 eggs, numbered 1-2. Cut door. "Incub Watch" 0935 - 1035. At 1000oo bird (9?) into hole. 1022. Bird (8?) to hole, look in - Flew away.
