1987 M. Stanback M. formicivorus 5030 HNHR 9 Jan 0900 Acorn Count: 895 (probably missed several hundred by counting only from uphill side) WDK The granary is pretty full. 26 Feb 0900 Acorn Count @ 800. Again this was from the uphill side only and was a verbal count Birds seen: 736, 1039, 5222 12 April 1515-1545. Checked (hello) the 2 holes in the granary. Nothing. Still plenty of acorns. Sat & waited for birds. Never came. 27 April 0850-0925. Watched the 2 holes in the granary. The cutout one looks freshly used. Birds seen were just flycatching, no mate guarding. They seemed to come & go toward the cabin. However I did hear them from the direction of the 85 nest. I scouted in that direction afterwards but got nada. 30 April 1020-1045 Hid, watched the granary holes. Birds were around a little, but none to holes. Heard activity by SOBO birds in the direction of Bianca. 7 May 1020-1035 Watched granary holes. Nothing. 29 May 0845-0945 Watched granary & Walked around. No interest in granary holes. Seemed to fly to NW Mostly. Plenty of acorns left. Saw 3 Bwinto, 3 Yo, 3 RWB, NOBA 9 getting pecked, tail spots, & making baby sounds. These are 736, 1039, (1089?), & 5222.
