2 May Whoops - you mean I don't have an Mar or April count?
1730 Saw a suspicious departure from the area of (not up tree)
the traditional hole in the bluebird box tree. Went up tree
and found a nice new hole about 1 foot above it. Of
course I left my climbing gear (otherwise I wouldn't
have found anything) I'll climb it tomorrow.
3 May 1430 Well, well, Changes. There are 3 birds here. And
I think they'll nest in the 'traditional' tree. But
which hole? Prob not the 'trawl' hole - it had only
a few fresh chips in it. However, the hole above
it is in ship shape - lots new chips. There's also
a SE facing hole about a foot above or around
From said hole. It too has fresh chips.
7 May 1600 Climbed the holes again (thunder ☀️ overhead). All
empty. The new one (facing west) still looks likeliest.
Saw 4 birds Flush From 'nest' tree upon arrival!
14 May W/H reports 4th egg laid on 13 May. Nest is
new NE facing hole (see above)
26 May 1330 Failed. 1 egg unhatched. Several shells. Starvation?
